We had an interesting after-work visit to the Nordea Bank Museum, which is located in the Union Bank of Finland’s Old Banking Hall, at Aleksanterinkatu, Helsinki.

Located in the bank’s old vault the museum hosts a fully-furnished bank interior designed by the famous Finnish architects Gesellius, Lindgren and Saarinen. The interior dates back to 1904, but the permanent exhibition presents over 150 years of commercial banking history, starting from 1862 with the establishment of the Union Bank of Finland. The exhibition includes wide variety of memorabilia from each of Nordea’s predecessor banks.
